BELLWAY HOMES REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO STANTON CROSS

Bellway Homes is set to expand its development presence at Stanton Cross, with planning consent granted for a further 135 new homes.

The new Hawthorn Place development will comprise a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes, with property designs including the Bellway’s new Artisan house types, which will be seen for the first time at Stanton Cross. The development will also include seven affordable units. The first phase of properties at Hawthorn Place will be available for off-plan reservations from this summer, with the first completions expected in May 2022.

Hawthorn Place will build on Bellway Homes’ existing development at Stanton Cross – The Beeches – which has seen almost 100 completions to date. Together, they reinforce Bellway’s long-term commitment to the growth of the Stanton Cross community and a desire to satisfy the ongoing public demand for quality new build homes in Wellingborough.

Luke Southgate, Sales Director for Bellway Northern Home Counties, said: “Hawthorn Place (at Stanton Cross) will form part of a new community which is already becoming well established at Stanton Cross, on the eastern edge of Wellingborough and just over two miles from the town centre.

“We’ve already seen high levels of demand for the new homes we’re building at The Beeches at Stanton Cross and are committed to delivering further new housing for the local area with this new parcel of land.

“Across these two sites, we will be providing 284 much-needed new homes, including 14 affordable properties for local people.

“This is a flagship neighbourhood which, as a whole, will offer 3,650 new homes alongside leisure and community facilities, shops, offices and schools, creating 3,000 new jobs and driving more than £1 billion of investment into the area.

“Wellingborough is a large market town and already offers a whole host of amenities, while there are great transport links, both by road and rail. The A45 is less than two miles away for links to the M1, A14 and A1, while Wellingborough railway station is 1.5 miles away for direct trains to London.”

This latest news is also further evidence of the importance of Stanton Cross as it continues to attract long term investment from some of the UK’s largest housing developers and the new community continues to emerge, with Bovis Homes nearing 200 completions at its Wendleburie Rise development.

Further infrastructure investment is also underway at Stanton Cross to provide the range of amenities homeowners want from their local community. This includes a new 115-acre Town and Country park as part of the site’s ongoing green infrastructure planning and a new 420 pupil primary school on Irthlingborough Road.

Lee Barrett, Divisional Operations Director for Vistry Group and a representative of Stanton Cross Developments LLP, promoters of the Stanton Cross project, said: “Granting of planning consent to enable Bellway to add a further 135 homes to the Stanton Cross community is another important and exciting milestone on the Stanton Cross journey. It will further underpin the significant progress we are making in creating a major residential-led development that builds a welcoming community where people want to live.”
