Reception pupils from Stanton Cross Primary School recently donned their walking boots and high vis vests to take a tour of the Stanton Cross community to learn and share important road safety messages as part of Road Safety Week – Britain’s biggest road safety campaign, run by national charity Brake from 14thto 20th November.

Led by the Stanton Cross Developments team, the children visited various parts of the development to practise the road safety basics promoted by the campaign, including safety by roads, safe vehicles and speeds and the importance making sure we can all stay safe on the roads, no matter who we are, or how we travel.

Sarah Whitlock, Deputy Headteacher at Stanton Cross Primary School, said: “It’s incredibly important that children learn how to stay safe when out and about, particularly when it comes to road safety, which is why were delighted to work with the Stanton Cross Developments team to help teach them some valuable messages. The children enjoyed the visit very much and are already talking about the safety tips they have learnt.”

Jamie Street, Divisional Project Manager at Stanton Cross Developments LLP, added: “Road safety has always been a priority for us here at Stanton Cross and with the school recently opening on site, we thought it was important to work together to ensure the pupils are aware of how to use roads safely. The children were a delight and really engaged during the tour. I hope they all remember to practise the road safety skills they have learnt this week.”
