STANTON CROSS GETS NEW NINE ACRE PARK
Wrapping around the perimeter of Bovis Homes’ Wendleburie Rise development and situated adjacent to Bellway’s The Beeches development, Grange Park is well-equipped for the emerging new community. A designated play area features timber equipment including a playhouse, various climbing structures, a seesaw, rocker and slide, to provide local children with opportunities for social and physical education and natural play.
The planting scheme for the park has been designed to create a diverse and naturalistic landscape, providing shelter for small animals, food for birds and flowers for insects. Two small wildflower meadows have been sown and there many native trees, hedges and shrubs positioned throughout the expanse of the park.
Lee Barrett, Divisional Operations Director for Vistry Group and a representative of Stanton Cross Developments, said: “The provision of quality public open space along with attractive and welcoming areas of parkland is absolutely vital to our vision for Stanton Cross and to the creation of a sustainable new community. With progress at the development moving forward apace – and with almost 300 new homes now occupied at Stanton Cross – we are thrilled to be opening the first completed area of landscaped public parkland and to be providing homeowners with nine acres of space for recreation and relaxation.
“The events of the last 12 months have proven to us all just how important access to outdoor space is – both for our mental and physical wellbeing – and it is our sincere hope that everyone who lives and works at Stanton Cross, both now and in the future, will make the most of Grange Park and the many additional acres of green infrastructure planned for the development. This fantastic new park has truly been designed with the community in mind and we look forward to seeing it in use.”
The team behind Grange Park included Define Architects, VML Landscape Design, Miracle Play and Design and ECL Civil Engineering.
